چکیده

Background: The current understanding of the venous system in hippocampus is mostly based on histological and autopsy studies.1 However, main disadvantage that it only reveals anatomy vascular at post-mortem stage lacks physiological aspects associated with neuronal metabolism. In vivo characterization using susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI) 7 T could provide valuable information both blood oxygen saturation, through high-resolution SWI venography2 quantitative mapping (QSM).3 this study, we aim to elucidate hierarchical network hippocampal then test feasibility characterize oxygenation level changes related neurodegeneration.
Methods: Seven healthy volunteers were recruited for study. We used high in-plane resolution flow-compensated dual-echo gradient echo sequence (TE1/TE2/TR=7.5/15/22 ms, voxel size: 0.25*0.25*1 mm). QSM reconstructed iterative (iterative SWIM) algorithm,3 as shown Figure 1. Hippocampus masks extracted from T1-MPRAGE image, which was transformed space afterwards. To reduce partial volume effect tissue-vessel boundary, extract value each along centerline vessels.
Results: High-resolution vasculature exhibits a analogy Duvernoy’s reference4 vascularization. As 1, there shape arch near fimbria hippocampus, small veins extending are possibly intrahippocampal veins. will eventually reach inferior ventricular vein (IVV) (anteriorly) medial atrial (MAV) (posteriorly), before joining basal Rosenthal (BVR). For quantification, 1 shows representative color-coded extraction BVR.
Conclusions: Our results showed improved visualization micro data without contrast agent.5 summary, major tributaries offers novel perspective utilization may be useful studying age-related dementia. delineated SWI/QSM density hippocampus-related tributaries, an overall measure early marker atrophy Alzheimer’s disease.

Quantification of Oxygen Saturation of Venous Vessels Using Susceptibility Mapping

The regulation of oxygen supply and consumption by the brain is a complex and dynamic process. The determination of the oxygen saturation of venous blood is an indirect means to assess local tissue oxygen saturation. Quantitatively measuring oxygen saturation is important to characterize the physiological or pathological state of tissue function. Noninvasive and reliable measurements can help t...

Validity of Peripheral Capillary Oxygen Saturation and Normal Mixed Venous Oxygen Tension in Measurement of O2 Content

Background The change in venous oxygen saturation occurs earlier, and even its reduction is faster than arterial oxygen saturation. The aim of this study was to validate SvO2 and PvO2 for O2 content measurement in children hospitalized w...

Mapping Blood Oxygen Saturation using a Multi-Spectral Imaging System

Recent advances in imaging spectroscopy provide the opportunity for mapping the oxygen saturation of blood in skin with high accuracy, large spatial coverage, small spatial resolution, and high update rate. A four—wavelength algorithm, specifically designed to compute the oxygen saturation of hemoglobin, in vivo, from a set of narrow-band visible images was used to analyze various skin tissue d...

Venous oxygen saturation estimation from multiple T2 maps with varying inter-echo spacing

Background Dependence of blood T2 on O2 saturation has led to noninvasive MRI-based techniques for determining venous O2 saturation (SvO2) [1-3]. However, applying a general calibration factor derived from in vitro experiments can lead to inaccurate and largely varying SvO2 estimates in the target population. We aim to show that based on the Luz-Meiboom relation 1/T2 = 1/T2o + Hct(1-Hct) τex [(...

Groundwater Potential Mapping using Index of Entropy and Naïve Bayes Models at Ardabil Plain

Although groundwater resources have long been selected as a safe choice for resolving human water requirements, overexploitation of them, especially at Ardabil plain, has promoted a decrease in the quality and quantity of these resources. One of the significant solutions is to identification of the groundwater potential zones and exploitation of them according to their potentials. The aim of th...
